Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. It’s your chance to see hidden places and try out new experiences – and it’s all FREE.

In Sheffield we have one of the largest Heritage Open Days festivals in the country, thanks to the event being coordinated across the city by a small team of Sheffield Civic Trust volunteers who support local organisers to put on a huge variety of events each year. We produce a free printed brochure which is circulated across the city from mid-August and which is also available to download from our sister website SheffieldHODS.com

This year's festival will take place between 6 - 15 September 2024. To find out more email hods@sheffieldcivictrust.org.uk
